Technology Reflection

So far in my life Technology has played a pretty big part.  As I have gotten older it has become more significant in my life.  In elementary school the use of computers was slowly becoming a popular thing.  In my school starting in first grade I can remember going to computer class.  As I progressed through elementary school the use of computers/smart boards came into bigger play in my school.  The biggest thing I learned with technology in elementary school was probably how to type and run a computer.  As I got into middle school we started getting assigned assignments that we could use things like power point for.  This was exciting and new for me.  Into high school we got laptops and many assignments we had were done using the computer.  Now in college so many things for my classes are online.  It kinda of blows my mind really.  It is so incredibly handy and useful doing things online.  It is also really convenient, if say I am writing a paper and need to do research I can do that right on my computer and never even have to go to a library.  So in the future I see technology becoming a even bigger part of education.  I want to be a special education teacher and I know a lot of sped teachers who use ipads in there classes.  I want to as a teacher incorporate technology whenever I can, but I don't want technology to be everything we use.  I think we are sometimes too dependent on it, so in the future as a teacher I want to make sure there is a even balance between technology and time with out it. 

1st Blog!

This is my first blog and I am looking forward to learning ways to incorporate all types of technology into the classroom.  I hope that this class can teach more tools to use to do this.  I want to learn to look at technology as being more than electronics.
